SYTYCD Host Cat Deeley & Husband Patrick Kielty Split After 12 Years of Marriage

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty announced their split Tuesday after 12 years of marriage, according to a joint statement reported by BBC.

The So You Think You Can Dance host and Northern Irish comedian shared they “have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated.”

“There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected.”

The former couple said there will be “no further comment” on the matter.

Deeley, 48, and Kielty, 54, first worked together years before their romance began.

They co-hosted British talent competition Fame Academy from 2002 to 2003.

The pair married in Rome in September 2012.

During a 2015 Loose Women interview, Kielty revealed how their friendship turned romantic. He was at “a little Irish pub” in Northern Ireland around closing time when he texted Deeley for her birthday.

She was in Beverly Hills and mentioned having lunch the next day. “She said, ‘It’s just a shame you’re not in L.A. because I’m having a lunch tomorrow.’ So I said I’ll be there.”

Kielty flew around the world to surprise her.

When he walked into the Beverly Hills Hotel, Deeley “fell off the chair and we’ve been together ever since,” he recalled.

Two Sons Together

The former couple share two sons: Milo and James Patrick.

Milo was born in January 2016. Their second son, James Patrick, arrived in June 2018.

Between her children’s births, Deeley spoke about balancing motherhood with her career.

“I’ve got so much respect for all moms out there that do it. You have to juggle like crazy and have a team around you. And whether that’s your family, Mom and Dad, nanny … whoever it is, you have this team. It takes a tribe – I can totally understand that now.”

This was Kielty’s first marriage. Deeley had been previously married.
