A source tells PEOPLE that Sydney Sweeney “has fully moved on” from her relationship with ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino after the pair appeared to have a tense confrontation over the weekend.
“He still asks to see her and she has when she’s had the time, but she’s never getting back together with him,” the source says.
Multiple outlets published photos of Sweeney and Davino in a car together in Los Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 1. The 28-year-old actress was seen in the passenger seat of Davino’s car as the pair drove off together, according to photos obtained by Page Six.
Sweeney’s reunion with 42-year-old Davino came months after the actress called off their wedding and later confirmed they had broken up.
“Sydney was determined to remain friendly with him after they split, but she has fully moved on,” the source tells PEOPLE.
“She’s really tried to keep things amicable. He still asks to see her and she has when she’s had the time, but she’s never getting back together with him. She just wants to move on now.”
Sweeney has been dating music executive Scooter Braun in recent months. A source first told PEOPLE that the pair were “casually hooking up” in September, and the relationship appears to be getting more serious.
Braun, 44, and Sweeney were last seen spending time together in L.A. on Sept. 30.
“She’s happy with Scooter and thrilled about her career,” the source tells PEOPLE of Sweeney’s current relationship. “She has everything she could ever wish for.”
Recent Projects Build Confidence
At an October screening of Sweeney’s new movie Christy, in which she portrays real-life boxer Christy Martin, the actress said that portraying Martin and meeting her “taught me how to stand up for myself more and feel stronger in my personal life [and] my work life.”
Sweeney echoed those comments when she spoke to an audience at Variety‘s Power of Women event on Wednesday, Oct. 29, where she accepted an award.
“Playing [Martin] taught me that surviving isn’t the end of the story. It is the beginning of reclaiming it. And to every young girl out there, I hope that you know that your power is already within you. You don’t have to wait for permission to be brave. You don’t have to shrink yourself to make others comfortable. And if you fall, you can just get right back up.”
Christy is in theaters Friday.
