Sources close to Shane Gillis confirm the comedian and influencer Grace Brassel have ended their relationship.
“Shane and Grace broke up a number of months ago,” sources with knowledge of the situation tell PEOPLE about their relationship status. The 37-year-old comedian and Brassel, 26, first started dating in July 2024.
The confirmation comes amid online speculation following a TikTok Brassel posted Thursday, Nov. 6.
She used audio from “Madeline,” a song by Lily Allen about worrying if a partner is seeing another woman. The choice caught people’s attention online.
One person commented, “If THAT man did something to YOU I’m gonna freak out,” to which Brassel replied with a grinning emoji. Another wrote, “Omg I missed u,” and Brassel said, “I missed me too .”
Gillis and Brassel were last seen together in July at the ESPYS, where the comedian hosted the sports awards show.
Brassel posted photos from that night on Instagram. The carousel included several shots of her and Gillis smiling and posing together on the red carpet.
The comedian was first linked to Brassel when they were photographed together at Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo’s wedding.
Brassel posted photos from the event that included shots of her and Gillis posing like a couple. Also in the post was a picture of her, Gillis and Post Malone.
She confirmed they were dating in a July 2024 TikTok video.
“When women literally come up to your boyfriend and say ‘I would make out with you right now’ in front of your face,” she wrote.
In the caption, she added, “I’m literally dating a hot girl.”
While Brassel often posted about the comedian, she didn’t appear on his social media. Gillis previously said he tries to keep his private life out of the public eye during a March 2023 appearance on the What Does Your Crazy Look Like podcast.
He commented on a prior two-year relationship during that interview but didn’t share details about his dating life.
