Scott Wolf has broken his silence about his ongoing divorce, accusing his estranged wife Kelley Wolf of making what he calls “disturbing, false” allegations against him.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, the longtime couple announced their split after 21 years together on June 10. Scott has since been granted temporary sole physical custody of his and Kelley’s three children.
The Party of Five actor addressed the situation publicly for the first time, saying the allegations have impacted his relationship with their kids.
“These false claims have been extremely difficult for our family to navigate, especially for our children who are caught in the middle of this situation.”
Scott, 56, and Kelley married in 2004 and have three children together. The couple had previously kept their personal lives largely private throughout their marriage.
Court documents show Scott was awarded temporary custody following a hearing last month. The specifics of the allegations haven’t been made public, but sources close to the situation describe them as serious accusations that Scott vehemently denies.
The actor’s legal team says they’re confident the truth will come out during proceedings.
“We’re prepared to address these allegations head-on and demonstrate that they lack merit,”
a representative for Scott told PEOPLE.
Kelley’s representatives haven’t responded to requests for comment about Scott’s statement.
The divorce proceedings are expected to continue over the coming months. Scott says his primary focus remains on protecting his children during this difficult time.
