Rachel Zoe addressed her complicated relationship with ex-husband Rodger Berman during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 premiere, revealing details about his new relationship timeline.
The fashion mogul spoke candidly about Berman’s girlfriend Bree Jacoby on the Thursday, Dec. 4 episode. Photos of the couple surfaced just four months after Zoe and Berman announced their separation in September 2024.
“Rodger has had the same girl for a year,” Zoe said. “The kids have known probably for 10 months.”
Zoe shares two sons with Berman: Skyler, 14, and Kaius, 11.
When a producer pointed out that meant Berman “got a girlfriend right after you guys separated,” Zoe responded, “I’ll let you do the math.”
The boys’ relationship with their father has been strained since the split.
“I think that they wonder why he sometimes does or says things he says, why he acts the way he does, why there’s time spent with his girlfriend versus his kids.”
Zoe said she’s trying to view Berman as a friend but admitted they aren’t there yet.
33 Years Together
Zoe and Berman first met in 1991 as students at George Washington University. They married in 1998 after seven years together.
She compared their early relationship to The Notebook.
“We were married 26 years, together for 33,” Zoe explained. “We were together for 18 years before we had kids. I think after we had kids, I think it changes, at the end of the day. I think we’ve outgrown each other… we became very different people.”
Zoe identified working together as her biggest regret in their relationship.
“Lines got crossed,” she said. Berman became “unrecognizable” over time. “Ultimately, that person didn’t feel right around me or my kids.”
Moving Forward
The summer following their separation was “brutal” for Zoe. But she’s found peace in her new living situation.
“I don’t come home to an empty house sad,” she said. “I come home to an empty house smiling. It’s very peaceful.”
Her sons’ wellbeing remains her top priority.
“If my kids are great, all is fine.”
Zoe previously addressed rumors about the timeline of Berman’s new relationship in a recent interview with PEOPLE. She called it simply “the timeline’s the timeline.”
“Everything I answer is through a lens of what my children will see and hear,” she said. “It is what it is. Whether or not they’re together now, I don’t really know. Life is wild, and I can say it takes a whole lot to really shock me.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
