Rachel Zoe has embraced the post-divorce jewelry trend with a custom “divorce ring” from Ring Concierge. The fashion designer and Bravo star commissioned the piece after filing for divorce from husband Rodger Berman in July 2025.
The couple had been married for 26 years before announcing their separation last year.
Zoe’s new ring features a large oval diamond flanked by two smaller stones. Ring Concierge shared a video showcasing the custom piece on social media, which the 54-year-old designer originally debuted in mid-December.
She called it “A divorce ring of my dreams…I could die!!!!!” on her Instagram Stories, according to Bravo.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star joins other celebrities who’ve celebrated their independence with post-breakup jewelry. Brooks Nader created a nine-carat diamond ring from her engagement ring after splitting from Billy Haire.
Emily Ratajkowski debuted her princess-cut diamond pinky ring in 2024 following her divorce from film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard.
From Push Present to Divorce Ring
Zoe and Berman first met as students at George Washington University in 1991. They married in 1998 and had two children together – Skyler in 2011 and Kaius in 2013.
After Skyler’s birth, Berman surprised Zoe with an elaborate push present. He worked with celebrity jewelry designer Neil Lane on a nearly 10-carat cushion-cut diamond ring set in platinum.
“Rodger wanted to surprise Rachel with something romantic – and huge,” Lane told PEOPLE at the time. “I knew she’s wanted a cushion cut forever. It was their first baby and she’s been working so hard that Rodger wanted to do something very special.”
“Rachel was thrilled and hasn’t taken it off since!”
Finding Independence After 26 Years
Zoe recently spoke with PEOPLE about her life after separation, which has become a storyline in her debut season as a Housewife. She emphasized the importance of financial and professional independence for women going through divorce.
“I mean, probably at least 30% of the women in my life are going through a separation or a divorce,” she said.
“The question I kept getting asked and still get asked is: ‘Why am I so okay coming out of a relationship that really transcended my entire adult life?’ It’s because I’m independent – financially, professionally and socially.”
She stressed that women need their own reasons to wake up each day. That independence made her transition easier when she decided to leave her marriage.
“No matter what life throws at you, you have to be able to stand up on your own. You just have to.”
Zoe admitted she felt “really done” in her relationship with Berman but doesn’t view their marriage as a failure. She described three-quarters of their 26-year marriage as “amazing” but acknowledged she “100%” should have “left sooner.”
Now she’s focused on moving forward, including getting back into dating.
“It’s incredibly fun. To be honest, that wasn’t hard for me to get into. It really wasn’t.”
