Offset Explains Why He Won’t Remarry After Cardi B Divorce

Offset says he’s done with marriage for good.

The rapper opened up about his views on marriage during an appearance on the Full Send Podcast on Friday, August 22. His comments come as his divorce from Cardi B remains pending after she filed in July 2024.

When host Kyle Forgeard asked why he’d never get married again, Offset was direct. “It’s not for me,” the 33-year-old said.

“I’ve done it. Had three kids with it. It’s like a mission that’s been complete.”

Marriage Changes Everything

Offset and Cardi B tied the knot on September 20, 2017. The couple shares three children: daughter Kulture Kiari, 7, son Wave Set, 3½, and their youngest daughter Blossom, who was born in September 2024.

Blossom arrived two months after Cardi filed for divorce. This wasn’t the first time the couple faced marital troubles – Cardi initially filed for divorce in September 2020 but called it off.

The Migos rapper told Forgeard that experience shapes perspective. “You see, I experienced it so I’ve already done it,” he explained. He wouldn’t even want his “happily ever after” with someone new because “everything is temporary.”

Career vs. Commitment

When asked if he’d recommend marriage to others, Offset advised against it.

“I would say, unless you’re cool with changing your life entirely,” he said. “You got a partner that’s different. Especially when it’s written and it’s a real thing. Like is this partner’s different?”

He specifically wouldn’t advise Forgeard, who’s 31, to get married while focusing on his career.

Moving On Peacefully

Offset recently addressed his relationship’s end through his music. The closing track of his album KIARI deals with his split from Cardi.

“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” he told the Associated Press. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on – it’s over and done with.”

“It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

The divorce proceedings between the two rappers are ongoing. Despite their split, both continue co-parenting their three children.
