Offset released a surprise album on Halloween that takes direct shots at his estranged wife Cardi B and her new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
The rapper dropped Haunted By Fame on Friday, October 31. His track “No Sweat” includes lyrics that appear to target Cardi’s romance with the New England Patriots wide receiver.
“How the f— you leave Jordan for Rodman? You a fool if you think that I’m hurt/You ain’t happy, I know how it work/How you married and still givin’ birth?/Get some help, bitch you goin’ berserk.”
The basketball reference compares Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman. Offset seems to be questioning Cardi’s choice to move on with Diggs.
Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024 after seven years of marriage. The divorce isn’t finalized yet.
She’s now dating Diggs and expecting a baby with him. The couple has been linked since October 2024.
Cardi and Offset share three children together. They have daughters Kulture Kiari, 7, and Blossom Belle, 13 months, plus son Wave Set, 4.
The former couple also separated in 2020 but got back together.
Dating After Divorce
Cardi told Billboard in September that dating publicly after filing for divorce was challenging.
“It was very tough, but it is what it is. It’s tough hiding. It’s tough dating in your 30s, too, but I like him. I love him, today. I was always scared of dating people [because] I’ve always been in a long relationship since I was like, 21.”
She also spoke about Diggs encouraging her healing process during a CBS Mornings interview.
“One time he just told me, ‘Let me heal you. Give me a chance for me to heal you.’ And it’s like, ‘Okay.'”
Offset Admits Mistakes
Offset appeared on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast earlier this month. He admitted to making mistakes during his marriage, including cheating.
“I was definitely not perfect in the situation. [There’s] a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things that was wrong… I should’ve respected her way more, you know what I mean? I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out.”
He said he had to accept Cardi’s decision to end their marriage.
“That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin. I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.”
Moving Forward
Cardi discussed her feelings about the marriage ending on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in October.
“From my end, from his end… I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely. When your heart is not done, your heart is not done … While it was dying, I had a human growing in me, and I just kept thinking, ‘What’s life going to be without this person?'”
She told CBS Mornings that she no longer holds anger toward Offset. But she wishes things were different.
“It is what it is. Be a better person for your kids.”
The new album marks Offset’s first major release since the couple’s split became public.
