Offset confirmed that his new song “Move On” addresses the end of his marriage to Cardi B.
In an interview with the Associated Press, the rapper revealed that the closing track of his forthcoming album KIARI focuses on their divorce.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,”
said Offset, 33.
“It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on – it’s over and done with.”
He added that their relationship “was great while it lasted” but called it “a book that’s closed.”
Cardi B, 32, married Offset in 2017. She filed for divorce in 2020, but the couple reconciled.
They remained on and off until Cardi filed for divorce a second time in July 2024.
The former couple share three children: Kulture Kiari, 7, Wave Set, 3½, and Blossom, 11 months.
Cardi’s New Relationship
On June 2, Cardi confirmed her romance with NFL player Stefon Diggs. She shared a photo of herself and the 31-year-old gazing into each other’s eyes on a yacht deck.
The following day, Cardi discussed her previous relationship on X Spaces. She said she would “end up killing” Offset if they were still together.
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was. How tired, how mentally drained I was,”
she told fans.
“Drained, drained, drained. Couldn’t eat. I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind.”
Cardi said she gave the relationship “chances after chances after chances.”
If she had stayed, she believed she would “end up going to jail” because she was “going to end up killing them” with her “own bare hands.”
Offset’s new album KIARI releases Friday, Aug. 22.
