Offset admitted to cheating during his seven-year marriage to Cardi B in a candid interview on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.
The rapper opened up about his mistakes during their relationship. “I was definitely not perfect in the situation,” he said on the podcast Tuesday. “I made a lot of mistakes. There’s a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things that was wrong.”
Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024 after seven years of marriage.
The 33-year-old rapper said having their divorce play out publicly has made things harder. When host Keke Palmer asked what he could have done differently, Offset was direct.
“I should’ve respected her way more, you know what I mean? I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out.”
He said he had to accept Cardi’s decision to end their marriage. “That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin,” he explained. “I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.”
The former couple shares three children together.
Offset and Cardi have daughter Kulture Kiari, 7, son Wave Set, 4, and daughter Blossom Belle, 13 months. The rapper emphasized that they have “kids to live for” despite their split.
He also criticized social media users for spreading rumors about their divorce. “The narrative be nasty sometimes on me and it don’t be that,” he said.
Cardi recently spoke about feeling the marriage end before it officially did.
On Monday, Cardi appeared on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast and revealed she felt disconnected from Offset long before filing for divorce.
“I felt the love dying,” the 32-year-old rapper told Shetty. “From my end, from his end… I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely.”
She explained that her heart had to catch up with her mind. “It took months for the heart to say, ‘You’re done.’ Instead of my mouth and my brain. My heart had to be like, ‘You’re done.'”
This isn’t the first time Cardi has filed for divorce.
The couple married in September 2017. Cardi previously filed for divorce in 2020 but called it off. Their current divorce proceedings aren’t finalized yet.
Cardi is currently pregnant with her fourth child, her first with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
