Nina Dobrev was spotted enjoying a sun-soaked vacation with close friend Keleigh Teller following her recent split from Shaun White.
PEOPLE confirmed on Sept. 11 that Dobrev and White ended their engagement after five years together.
The Vampire Diaries actress, 36, appeared to be in good spirits as she spent time on the water with Teller on Sept. 18. Teller is married to actor Miles Teller.
Photos shared to Keleigh’s Instagram show the pair lounging in swimwear during what appears to be a boat trip.
Dobrev wore a black one-piece with cutout details while Teller, 32, chose a striped suit. Both women accessorized with bucket hats and sunglasses for their day on the water.
The photo carousel also featured shots of Dobrev in a floral bikini and Teller in a red suit.
One image shows the group dressed up for dinner, with Dobrev and Teller in floral dresses alongside Miles Teller, Chace Crawford and Zac Efron.
The vacation photos mark Dobrev’s return to social media activity following news of her split from the Olympic snowboarder.
The Split
Multiple sources provided details about the breakup to PEOPLE last week.
“It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,”
according to a source close to the former couple.
However, conflicting reports emerged about the reasons behind their split.
One source suggested differing priorities led to the end of their relationship. “She wanted a family and wanted to get married – and he didn’t,” the insider said, adding that Dobrev “is devastated” and has been “supported by family” while traveling.
But another source disputed this account, insisting both White and Dobrev “wanted marriage and kids” and that the split “wasn’t just one-sided.”
“They both wanted marriage and children and were making plans to have a life together,” a third source added.
Representatives for both Dobrev and White haven’t responded to requests for comment.
Their Relationship
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2020, though they later revealed they’d been dating since late 2019.
White, 39, proposed to the actress in October at a New York City restaurant.
Signs of trouble emerged in the days before their split announcement. Dobrev attended the Eternity premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival without her engagement ring.
The vacation with friends appears to be part of Dobrev’s efforts to move forward following the end of her five-year relationship with the three-time Olympic gold medalist.
