Miranda Kerr shared insights about her ex-husband Orlando Bloom’s recent split from Katy Perry during an appearance on KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O Show on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The Victoria’s Secret model confirmed the breakup was amicable when asked directly about the former couple’s relationship status.
Kerr said she’s seen both Bloom and Perry together since their June split.
“I actually just saw them both on the weekend. We were celebrating [their daughter] Daisy’s birthday,” she said.
The 42-year-old supermodel shares Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland, 14, with Bloom, 48. The actor also has Daisy Dove, 5, with Perry, 40.
“We’re one big, happy family. Katy is amazing, I love her. And Orlando obviously.”
Kerr emphasized how keeping splits peaceful benefits everyone involved, especially when children are part of the equation.
“If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,”
she noted about maintaining harmony during relationship transitions.
Co-Parenting Remains Priority
A source told PEOPLE in June that Perry’s main focus stays on successful co-parenting with Bloom.
“Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando. He’s the father of their daughter and that will always come first for her.”
The source added that mutual respect continues between the former couple despite their decision to separate.
“They’ve been through a lot together and while they’ve decided to go their separate ways, there’s still a mutual respect between them. They’re still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together.”
Representatives for Perry and Bloom officially confirmed their split on July 3.
Blended Family Success
Throughout Bloom and Perry’s nine-year relationship, they built what they called a “blended family” with Kerr and her husband Evan Spiegel.
Kerr and Spiegel share sons Hart, 7, Myles, 5, and Pierre, 18 months.
Perry expressed gratitude for their family arrangement in January 2023, saying she was grateful for their “modern blended family.”
“It’s like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with,”
Perry said about her relationship with Kerr.
In September 2023, Kerr told Access Hollywood that she and Bloom had mastered co-parenting Flynn successfully.
“Evan [Spiegel] is my partner for the last nine years and now we have our family and Katy [Perry] and Orlando have Daisy. It’s like we’re a blended family. And we go on family vacations together, we enjoy each others’ company, it’s great.”
The arrangement shows how modern families can maintain close relationships even after romantic partnerships end.
