Iris Kendall and Pepe Garcia have ended their relationship following their appearance on Love Island USA season 7.
Pepe Garcia confirmed the breakup to TMZ on Thursday.
“Iris and I are not together anymore. That’s just the way it goes.”
The 27-year-old reality star addressed cheating rumors that have been circulating online.
“I like to say, my friends and family, are the people that support me, they know who I am as a person, and that’s honesty. That’s the biggest, the most important thing.”
Iris Kendall posted a photo on Instagram Stories showing herself holding a cookie decorated with an image of herself crying. She wrote “LOL thank you for this @funnyfacebakery.”
The former couple entered the villa as bombshells during season 7, disrupting existing relationships among the contestants in Fiji.
Social Media Activity Sparked Breakup Rumors
Fans first noticed signs of trouble on August 24. Iris and Pepe unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Iris removed all posts featuring Pepe from her account. He kept his photos with her on his feed.
She shared several cryptic posts on Instagram Stories during the speculation. One featured a sunset photo with Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs” playing.
The song choice caught fans’ attention. “Silver Springs” is about a breakup, written by Stevie Nicks about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham.
Couple Appeared Together at Reunion Show
The season 7 reunion aired on August 25. Pepe and Iris still appeared to be together during filming.
They didn’t share many details about their relationship status on the show.
After leaving the villa, Pepe told PEOPLE they were working on building a normal relationship outside the reality TV environment.
“Obviously, with how everything blew up, we’re just trying to make it as normal as possible and take things like we normally would have two months ago.”
“We just want to be together and hang out together and just see what happens.”
