Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli Separate After 28 Years of Marriage

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have separated after nearly 28 years of marriage, according to the actress’s representative.

“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time,”

the rep tells PEOPLE.

The couple, who married in 1997, weathered significant public scrutiny during the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal. Both served prison sentences after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges related to paying bribes to get their daughters into the University of Southern California.

Loughlin, 60, is best known for her role as Aunt Becky on the sitcom “Full House” and its Netflix sequel “Fuller House.” Giannulli, 61, is a fashion designer who founded the clothing brand Mossimo.

The pair share two daughters together: Olivia Jade, 25, and Isabella Rose, 26. Both daughters were involved in the admissions scandal that rocked their family’s world.

Loughlin served two months in federal prison in 2020, while Giannulli served five months. They also completed community service and paid substantial fines as part of their sentences.

Since their release, the family has largely stayed out of the public eye. Loughlin made her return to acting with guest appearances on “When Hope Calls” in 2021.

The separation comes as both have been rebuilding their careers and public image following the scandal. Neither Loughlin nor Giannulli has commented publicly about the separation beyond the representative’s statement.

Their daughters have also been working to restore their reputations. Olivia Jade returned to social media and has discussed the scandal’s impact on her family in various interviews.

The couple’s nearly three-decade marriage survived one of Hollywood’s most high-profile legal scandals, but it appears the pressures may have finally taken their toll.
