Lori Loughlin & James Tupper Spotted Together Day Before Separation News

Lori Loughlin’s representative confirmed to PEOPLE that the actress and husband Mossimo Giannulli have separated after nearly 28 years of marriage.

Elizabeth Much told PEOPLE on Friday that the couple are “living apart and taking a break from their marriage.” She added that there “are no legal proceedings at this time.”

The Full House alum was photographed having dinner with costar James Tupper at The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood on Wednesday. News of her separation broke the following day.

Loughlin, 61, and Giannulli, 62, married in 1997.

The couple share two daughters: Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 27.

A source says Loughlin and Tupper “are old friends, and have worked together on a few different projects.”

The actors appeared together in Great American Family’s Fall Into Winter in January 2023. They reunited for Blessings of Christmas, where Loughlin played a TV star and Tupper portrayed the man who purchases her deceased aunt’s food pantry.

“It was wonderful. Lori was incredible to work with, and she is as sweet as they come,” Tupper said of their Fall Into Winter collaboration during a 2023 interview with Celebrating the Soaps.

Representatives for both Loughlin and Tupper didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Recent Real Estate Move

The separation comes after the couple listed their 11,800-square-foot mansion in Hidden Hills for $16.5 million in February.

They purchased the property in August 2020 for $9.5 million. The timing followed their involvement in the college admissions scandal that dominated headlines in 2019.

College Admissions Scandal

In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud charges. They were accused of paying $500,000 to have their daughters falsely admitted to the University of Southern California as crew team recruits.

Neither daughter participated in the sport.

Loughlin received a two-month prison sentence. Giannulli got five months. She was released in December 2020.

Return to Acting

Loughlin made her television comeback in 2021’s When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas on Great American Family.

She’s since appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm as herself, Blue Bloods, and On Call.

“I try to be a forgiving person. I’m not one to hold onto stuff. Stuff happens to everyone,” she told First for Women Magazine in April 2024.

The actress didn’t directly address the scandal but reflected on forgiveness and moving forward.

“My family wasn’t one to hold grudges. No one is perfect, we all make mistakes,” she said. “I think for your own health, you have to let things go because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”
