A source close to Katy Perry tells PEOPLE the singer “isn’t looking to date right now” following her recent split from Orlando Bloom. The couple, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, confirmed their engagement ended in June after nearly five years together.
The 39-year-old pop star is focusing on her career and co-parenting arrangements.
“She’s taking time for herself and concentrating on what’s next professionally,” the source explains.
Perry and Bloom, 47, first began dating in 2016 before briefly splitting the following year. They rekindled their relationship in 2018 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
The couple welcomed Daisy in August 2020.
Moving Forward After High-Profile Romance
Both stars have maintained they’ll continue co-parenting their daughter despite the relationship change. Perry recently wrapped her Las Vegas residency “Play” at Resorts World, which ran from December 2021 through November 2023.
The “Firework” singer has been open about the challenges of balancing motherhood with her demanding career schedule.
Bloom, meanwhile, continues his acting career with several projects in development. The “Lord of the Rings” actor was previously married to model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013, with whom he shares 13-year-old son Flynn.
Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
The former couple’s representatives haven’t commented on future custody arrangements or the specific reasons behind their split. Sources indicate the decision was mutual and both remain committed to providing stability for Daisy.
Perry’s last album “Smile” was released in 2020, and she’s expected to announce new music projects in the coming months.
