Katy Perry is adjusting to life as a single mom after her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom, according to a source close to the singer.
PEOPLE confirmed the former couple’s breakup after nine years together and six years engaged. The source reveals that Perry “never saw herself as a single mom” but is managing well despite the pressure.
“She never saw herself being a single mom. She’s felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It’s been a lot for her. She’s still doing great though.”
The “California Girls” singer shares 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with Bloom.
Perry, 40, welcomed Daisy on August 26, 2020. It’s Bloom’s second child after son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
The pop star previously described motherhood as transformative when speaking to Variety in September 2021.
“It’s the best. Everything that’s supposed to fade away fades away, and a balance comes in.”
Despite the split, Perry’s staying focused on her current commitments. Another source tells PEOPLE that the “Dark Horse” singer is maintaining her tour schedule with Daisy by her side.
“She’s happy and just focused on her tour. Her daughter is with her and they’re sightseeing and having fun.”
The mother-daughter duo recently enjoyed their time in Australia during Perry’s Lifetimes tour. Perry shared photos on Instagram from their Down Under adventures, including meeting characters from the children’s show Bluey.
In the photos, Perry posed with Bluey and Bingo while wearing dog ears. Daisy appeared in a glittery Bluey dress, holding her stuffed animal.
Another image showed Daisy holding cotton candy that nearly covered her face. The toddler wore a brown fuzzy coat as they explored the streets together.
