Kandi Burruss spent Thanksgiving with her estranged husband Todd Tucker despite filing for divorce last week, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum confirmed to fans on social media.
PEOPLE exclusively reported on Nov. 21 that Burruss, 49, and Tucker, 52, had split after 11 years of marriage.
The reality star posted a family photo on Instagram Thursday showing her three children: Riley, 23, Ace, 9, and Blaze, 6. Tucker’s daughter Kaela from a previous relationship also appeared in the picture.
“Happy Thanksgiving! I truly enjoyed my day with my fam. I hope you enjoyed yours! Now I feel stuffed like a turkey & need to lay down. “
Fans quickly noticed Tucker wasn’t in the photo but his daughter was included with the family.
“Before anyone assumes anything, Todd came earlier to eat with us but he wasn’t there for the pic. He was not left out or anything like that.”
Burruss clarified this in the comments section after followers began speculating about the family dynamics.
Focusing on Co-Parenting
The singer and entrepreneur told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that she decided to divorce Tucker “after deep thought and a lot of prayer.” She called it a “difficult and emotional time.”
“My focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
She’s clearly prioritizing the children during this transition period.
“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
Split Was “Brewing for a While”
During a Nov. 24 Amazon Live session, Burruss confirmed she officially filed for divorce on Nov. 21. She told viewers the split was “something that has been brewing for a while.”
The reality star opened up about struggling privately while maintaining a positive public image.
“All the times you’ve been seeing me online [all smiles] means nothing. I’ve been going through it.”
She kept her message simple about the end of her marriage.
“Sometimes things just don’t work out. It just is what it is.”
Burruss and Tucker married in 2014 and share two children together. The Thanksgiving celebration shows they’re committed to maintaining family traditions despite their personal challenges.
