Cash Warren shared an emotional year-end Instagram post reflecting on what started as a difficult year but evolved into one he’ll “always remember.”
The film producer posted a lengthy tribute on Wednesday featuring photos and videos with his three children with Jessica Alba. The post comes nearly a year after Alba announced their separation in January.
“You started out as the year I wanted to forget but so damn thankful you grew into the year I’ll always remember,”
Warren wrote alongside a collage of family moments.
The 46-year-old shared several life lessons from the past year. He wrote about acceptance being “suffering’s antidote” and warned about negative thoughts playing “on repeat if you allow them to.”
Warren also noted the thin line between enlightenment and narcissism.
Family Focus
The post prominently featured Warren’s children with Alba: daughters Honor, 17, and Haven, 14, plus son Hayes, 8. Photos showed the family during a tropical vacation, with beach shots and casual moments at home.
Warren praised each child individually in his caption.
He celebrated Honor’s acceptance to Yale University, writing that her ability to stay focused despite this year’s challenges “was inspiring.” He thanked her for “continuing to blaze the trail for your sister and little bro.”
For Haven, he appreciated her transparency and accountability. Warren said she taught him “about the fine art of being nonchalant” and thanked her for “communicating so openly when things weren’t sitting right with you.”
His youngest, Hayes, showed him how to live “with no regrets.” Warren shared a quote from his 8-year-old son: “Dad, you know how many people in the world made a mistake at the exact same time as me? It’s not a big deal.”
Divorce Proceedings
Warren’s reflective post comes during a challenging period following Alba’s January announcement about their separation. The Fantastic Four actress said they were “embarking on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
“We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time,”
Alba stated at the time.
Alba officially filed for divorce on February 7, citing irreconcilable differences according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. She requested joint custody of their children and asked to restore her legal name to Jessica Marie Alba.
The couple’s official separation date was listed as December 27, 2024.
Co-Parenting Approach
Despite their split, both Warren and Alba have prioritized their children’s wellbeing. The former couple has maintained a co-parenting relationship focused on family unity.
Alba shared photos on Easter showing the family together for the holiday. She captioned the post “Easter Sunday w the fam” alongside photos of their reunion.
Warren concluded his year-end post by thanking friends who helped him “get back on my feet” and expressing gratitude for both longtime and new relationships in his life.
