A source tells PEOPLE exclusively that Grimes and Anyma have ended their romantic relationship after more than a year of dating.
The electronic musicians have “amicably parted ways but still remain good friends and collaborators,” according to the source.
Despite the split, the pair plans to “release new music together soon.”
Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, went Instagram official with Anyma in March 2024. Both artists are 37 years old.
She captioned the photo with Anyma (born Matteo Milleri), “Beauty and the Beast.”
Their relationship began after musical collaborations. The New York-born, Italian DJ first worked with Grimes on her 2023 song “Welcome to the Opera.” They collaborated again earlier this year on his song “Taratata.”
The split marks another chapter in both artists’ personal lives.
Grimes previously had an on-again, off-again relationship with Elon Musk. They share three children together. Anyma was married to Vittoria Ceretti from 2020 to 2023. Ceretti is now dating Leonardo DiCaprio.
Both musicians have remained active professionally throughout their relationship.
Anyma released his latest studio album, The End of Genesys, in May. Grimes dropped her latest single, “idgaf,” in February.
In January, Anyma performed at the Sphere in Las Vegas with Grimes as a guest. He shared backstage photos in an Instagram photo dump, including a couples shot.
He captioned that post, “A Quantum Romance” and tagged Grimes.
After Grimes played Coachella Music Festival in April 2024, she shared a sweet selfie with Anyma backstage.
The source’s confirmation comes as both artists continue their separate musical projects while maintaining their professional relationship.
