David Beador Files Restraining Order Against Wife Lesley

David Beador was granted a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Lesley Beador, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The ex-husband of Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador filed the petition for protection on Tuesday, June 17. The court ordered Lesley to stay 100 yards away from David, his home and his workplace.

The only exception allows contact during custody exchanges of their 4-year-old daughter, Anna Love.

David, 60, also won his custody requests. He’ll have Anna from Friday mornings to Sunday evenings.

The court ordered Lesley to leave David’s Newport Beach home immediately. Lesley, Anna, and Lesley’s children from a previous relationship – Inga and Indris Pukke – must stay at the Montana home for the rest of the summer.

Claims About Financial Motivations

In his filing, David made serious allegations about Lesley’s motivations for their marriage.

“Lesley and I have had many ups and downs in our marital relationship, with prior [divorce petitions] filed and dismissed and domestic violence restraining orders. I have always been concerned that Lesley’s relationship with me has been primarily based upon her desire to live a luxurious standard of living. In our case [it’s] not just a cliché that Lesley married me for my money. In our case it is a fact, she has made that very clear to me literally.”

David accused Lesley of using Anna "as a tool to extract more money from" him. He also claimed she uses their daughter to "persuade me [to] dismiss my prior domestic violence actions."

Previous Legal Actions

This isn’t the first time restraining orders have been filed between the couple.

In June 2023, Lesley filed for divorce and requested a restraining order against David. She alleged he made "threats, harassment and hostile behavior" toward her and Anna.

David filed his own protection order at that time. He stated they had "intense and heated arguments" and claimed, "I now genuinely fear for my safety, and that of Anna’s to the point that I have no choice but to bring this request."

Recent Incident Details

David’s latest filing includes detailed allegations about recent events. He claimed in his June 2025 filing that "Lesley has physically abused me on several occasions and only a small portion of those incidents have been detailed in previous domestic violence actions."

“Lesley is a pathological liar and she will state under penalty of perjury literally anything that will benefit her. I endured countless incidents of domestic violence and abuse solely to be in a position where I can have frequent and continuing contact with Anna.”

David described a specific incident from June 10. The couple was planning a family trip to New York when an argument started. David claimed Lesley initiated a fight and refused to go on the trip after his friend made positive comments about him.

The next day, Wednesday, June 11, David alleged the argument escalated physically.

He claimed "Lesley physically attacked me, gouging large chunks of skin out of my arm." The filing included photos of alleged injuries.

“It should be further noted that during the altercation, Lesley actually shoved her fingers into my mouth attempting to silence me and later developed a self-serving narrative that I unilaterally bit her fingers!”

David also alleged Lesley cornered him in the bathroom and "forcefully slapped" him at least four times across the face.

Trip Cancellation and Aftermath

The family never went on the planned New York trip. The next day, Lesley took Anna, Inga and Indris to their Montana home.

From Montana, Lesley texted David saying she wanted a divorce. On Friday, June 13, David claimed she accused him of being gay, which he denied.

David noted that after their argument, he canceled the purchase of a "very expensive necklace." He claimed this upset Lesley and resulted in her "weaponizing Anna for her [own] benefit."

“Rather than letting me speak with Anna, she threatened that she was going to get her own three (3) year restraining order against me. This has been her pattern in the past. In the incidents of domestic violence against me she has a pattern of routine falsely alleging domestic violence against her.”

David concluded his filing by stating, "Lesley’s mental state is disturbing and nonsensical."

PEOPLE reached out to both David and Lesley for comment but hasn’t received responses.

A hearing to determine whether the restraining order becomes permanent is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8.

David was previously married to Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador. The former couple divorced after Shannon documented their marital struggles on the reality show.
