Blac Chyna and Derrick Milano announced Thursday they’ve ended their engagement after eight months.
The 37-year-old rapper, who now goes by her birth name Angela White, shared the news on her Instagram Stories according to People.
“After much prayer and reflection, Derrick and I have decided to call off the engagement,” White wrote.
“We love each other deeply and are good friends, but we both believe that God’s guidance has shown us that this is the right path for both of us, as we each continue our journeys. May we find peace and fulfillment in His divine will, trusting that His plan is greater than our own.”
Milano, whose real name is Derrick Gray, posted a similar statement on his Instagram Stories. The 31-year-old Grammy-winning producer has co-written tracks including Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage Remix.”
The couple started dating in May 2023.
They made their relationship Instagram official four months later in September 2023. At the time, they told People in a statement: “You won’t be able to say power couple without mentioning Angela White & Derrick Gray!”
The Engagement
Milano proposed to White in October 2024 during Howard University’s homecoming event. The proposal happened onstage at Howard’s Yardfest concert in Washington, D.C. – White’s home city.
Milano serenaded White with “Let Me Love You” by Mario before getting down on one knee. Footage of the proposal shows someone slipping a ring box into Milano’s hand mid-performance.
“Baby, you should let me love you, love you, love you,” Milano sang before the music cut out and he revealed the ring.
Milano later shared a video of the proposal on Instagram, along with clips explaining why he chose that particular song. The post included a video of him performing it 13 years earlier and another of him and White sharing a moment as the song played.
In the caption of the now-deleted post, Milano wrote: “She said YES. Angela Renee White, I can go on and on about how much you mean the world to me & never get tired of it.”
He continued: “I’ve found so much peace since we’ve met. & GOD put us in each other’s lives for a reason & for a purpose. Every day with you feels everlasting & it is such a blessing to call you my fiancée. I love you so much!”
Family Background
White has two children from previous relationships. She shares 12-year-old son King with ex Tyga and 8-year-old daughter Dream with ex Rob Kardashian.
Both White and Milano cited their faith in their breakup announcements, suggesting their decision was made through prayer and reflection.
